When does hurricane season begin and end?

2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season Names Alex, Bonnie, Colin, Danielle, Earl, Fiona, Gaston, Hermine, Ian, Julia, Karl, Lisa, Martin, Nicole, Owen, Paula, Richard, Shary, Tobias, Virginie, Walter

The Atlantic hurricane season begins June 1 and runs through Nov. 30. Hurricane forecasters are calling for an above-average season, with 19 named storms, nine hurricanes and four major hurricanes. Officials encourage residents to assemble a kit early. Doing so ensures there are adequate supplies available on store shelves and prevents a rush — and shortages — that regularly occur when a storm is imminent.
